In comparision to Bacula, Bareos client installation is much more convenient. I’ll show you example with Windows 7 64bit client and configuration on server side based on Debian 8.0
Downloading and installation

Install it step by step acording to instructions placed on screen. You need to provide basic fields:

Configuration
The code above was generated for Bareos director. You should copy it and paste directly to bareos server confituration. According to my example it’s /etc/bareos/bareos-dir.conf in Linux Debian 8.0.
Windows Client Server Configuration
Finally, check your client configuration and try to contact client from your server. Goto your Bareos console and simpky type:
status client |
and chooose added client. If your configuration is correct you should get some basic information and backup jobs:
